Maintaining JOY in the midst of grief.

The Christmas holiday is here and it can be tough for some to feel or experience a great amount of happiness or peace. I know you have heard the saying “count it all Joy”, but what does that mean. How is that possible? Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. But, life is not always fair. So the questions is… How can we hold tight to joy when life is unfair? Our Heavenly Father reminds us that He has placed JOY inside of us. In Galatians 5:23

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭-Amplified Version.

God is simply reminding us of the power that lives within. His healing power when hard emotions come to tamper with the abundance of JOY that He has placed inside of you. He states that joy is inner peace. He also tells us to abide in Him. I love this scripture because He is simply suggesting that in order to maintain an abundance of inner peace and happiness, we must seek Him. One thing I love is that there is no wrong way to seek Him. You can listen to your favorite worship jam, you can have intimacy with Him through conversation, you can reflect on His word that was left available to us, you can thank Him for all the He has done and will do #gratitude, you can also journal your thoughts to Him. The fact that He is all knowing means that He knows it before you share so let it out. 😉

Hopefully, this message was a gentle reminder that the peace that our God has given to us cannot be taken away by circumstances. It is always available and it is YOURS. Personally, this holiday has been a bit challenging since I lost my grandmother in July. However, I have held tight to God’s promise that “Weeping may endure for a night but JOY comes in the morning.” The promise comforts me by reminding me that although I may encounter unforeseen circumstances, every day is another to experience his inner peace.

XO- Be Well & Merry Christmas 🎄
